Re: lupron user and very nervous

I had three shots of Lupron. The hot flashes and insomnia suck. The memory loss sucks but at least I wasn't in pain. I am almost missing the Lupron. I think I'd rather deal with a few inconveniences than the intense pain that seems will never be gone.

I had Lupron shots after my excision surgery to help shrink the rest of the endo the dr. didn't remove for fear of puncturing my uterus and colon. Now that estrogen has re entered my body, I am in intense pain. My feeling is that everyone's experience is different. See how you do this month before deciding to do next month's shot. My symptoms were the same throughout my therapy. After a month after stopping therapy the hot flashes and insomnia went away. The memory loss thing... well, I don't know if it is stress or the Lupron. Maybe a little of both. Reading all the side effects and horrible things others went through is scary. It scared me but I trusted my dr. and I felt it was my only option at the time b/c we are wanting to get pregnant. You are most fertile 4-6 months after stopping the Lupron. Although my last shot was in Oct. I am still not ovulating.

My advice is this... Weigh your options and see how it goes with your first shot to decide where you want to go from there. Good luck. I hope all goes well :)
