Amber,

I also forgot to mention the nurses at Northside Hospital. I had heard a few stories before I went so I was aware. I do not know if I was supposed to but they constantly made me get up every hour & walk around even though I was in a lot of pain immediately after surgery. They were going to keep me longer than a day because I was having an issue with my bladder not emptying like it should. I explained to them that I had been having that same problem before the surgery & that should not be an issue. I told them they cannot hold me too long or my insurance would not pay. I already had a hard time getting my insurance to pay for a 23 hour stay. They accused me of lying at one point. They went to do the catheter at one point & asked my husband to leave. He said "I am her husband & I will stay here". Needless to say he did not leave. The nurse was not too happy about that. I almost refused to go home with a catheter. I ended up having to remove it 2 hours on my way home because it irrated me so bad that I started having dizziness & feeling like I was going to pass out. I also had to share a bathroom with someone else (That I really hated). At times their urine container (I don't know what you call it) was still sitting in the toilet with urine in it when I tried to go to the restroom. Just an FYI.
