Re: endometrosis and infertility

Susanna,
I'll just say this. My doctor told me prior to my last surgery that the
best time to try to conceive is within 4-6 months following laser
removal of endometriosis. If you have a skilled surgeon that can excise
the endometriosis it will be more effective than the surgery you had
with the previous doctor. Also, it is often thought that doctors using
electro-cautery are less skilled in endometriosis treatment (otherwise
they would be using a better surgical method). So perhaps you should
follow the new doctor's advice since it sounds like maybe the first
isn't as experienced with endometriosis. Lasers are more effective than
cautery, but excision using either a laser or scalpel is the most
effective method of removal.
Good luck,
Alyson
