Re: Help, Lupron!From: Alyson (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu Jan 11 13:21:11 2007
Marie, I have not taken Lupron, but you will find both sides of the success coin here on this forum. There are many women here who have had awful experiences and there are some who have found that the drug provided them with some relief. This is going to be one of the hardest decisions you have to make about your treatment. There is no way for you to know how you will react to Lupron without taking it. It comes down to educating yourself about the pros and cons of the drug and deciding whether you want to give it a shot. One sure thing to consider is that it is not a cure. Please remember that you have a say in your treatment. If you do not want Lupron you do not have to take Lupron. Do not let anyone make you feel pressured to either take or not take this drug. You should discuss your concerns about Lupron with your doctor before your surgery. Do some research into all of your options (there are other pharmaceutical options as well as alternative medicine) and be prepared to ask alot of questions. You may decide it is something you want to try, but if you feel like your doctor is just towing the Lupron line and you are still not comfortable with that option it is absolutely your right to seek a second opinion.
