Here's a website that has a list of endo docs, there are a few in Minnesota:

There's also a good yahoo group where you can ask for doctor rec's, and search the archives:

And I like this yahoo endo support group, too:

Another idea is to get a referral to pain management - it can make a HUGE difference while you are working on finding a decent doctor.

I've also had many doctors that didn't know endo from a pimple, and I don't think you are griping! It's incredibly frustrating to have your pain denigrated and disbelieved. That's why I suggest the pain management doctor - they are almost always more helpful at controlling pain, a lot of obgyns seem reluctant to prescribe what is often necessary. I mean, my pain doc has me on fentanyl patches that are the equivalent of about 30 percocets a day - none of my obgyns nor my PCP would even consider giving me more than a few vicodin a day! And my quality of life is greatly improved - I can work full-time when my pain is properly treated, but when it's not I sometimes can't even get out of bed, much less go to work.

One thing that can help when you are needing better pain management is to keep a pain diary. Detail your pain levels, what you take, and how well it works. My doctors seem to find it very helpful - I think they feel better about prescribing controlled drugs when the patient has a well-documented need. It's also good to see what patterns there may be to your pain and other symptoms.

Well, I can only speak for myself, but if you need to gripe this seems like a good place for it! There are a lot of women here who will support you - we know about the bad doctors! And hopefully we can help each other find the good ones.

All the best, D.
