Tara,
I think what you and I find is that yes the birth control pills help
with the pain but at some point they do cause the hormones to level off
and thats when the break through bleeding occurs. The problem with the
bleeding for me and what I hear you saying is that it does not get
resolved on its own and will continue until estrogen is added (via a
patch for me) or a break is taken from the pills. Of course this is
defeating teh purpose somewhat because the estrogen then feeds the
endometriosis but then again continuous bleeding is not good and can
cause alot of the symptoms you and I have related to increase in
bloating and nausea, etc. I've recently had a terrible experience with
Lupron and will most likely be going back to trying cbcp once again.
I've never upped my dosage and I agree with those who stated that your
migraine headaches may be due to the increase in the dosage. I've had
migraines in the past and I know how debilitating they can be-not sure
I'd be up for that. Question though, have you tried any changes in your
diet? I did have some success with decreasing my pain when I decreased
my caffeine intake, sugar intake and dairy consumption. It may be
something you might want to look into if you haven't already. I like
you have had surgery (2) and it really did not significantly reduce my
pain and you really have to wonder how much more scar tissue is being
created as well. How often do you find yourself needing breaks from the
pill? And what pill are you currently on? Just curious... Oh and to
answer your question about pain pills I've been on them for about 2
years now mainly Vicodin and Percocet-Motrin does absolutely NOTHING to
touch my pain. Occasionally I take Darvocet when its not too bad. But
to get through the work day I often require Vicodin or Percocet. Of
course I know this is not a good thing to do but until I can get my
symptoms under better control that is the only thing I have found that
works for me.
