It could happen, endo doesn't need the estrogen from ovaries (or other outside sources of estrogen) to grow. But then again, a real diagnosis requires that the tissue be biopsied, and it doesn't sound like that was done? Were any photos or a video taken of the surgery?

In any case, in my opinion if it isn't bothering you I don't think you need to worry about it. Endo of all stages can be found in women who never have any symptoms - if you aren't in pain and you aren't infertile from the endo you can count yourself lucky and forget about it!
