Hi Jesika -
There are a few Australian endo specialists listed on this site:
http://www.geocities.com/endovictims/endodocs.html
Sorry I don't know anything about them. Unfortunately, most
gynecologists are not "endo specialists" and don't know enough about the
disease to really help you with this. There are a lot of very nice
gynecologists who are perfectly competent in their usual practice - but
they can't help us with endo because they just don't have the skills. Of
course, some of them are more willing to admit this than others...
I think the best thing you can do is learn as much as you can about
endo, and start looking for a specialist. Has your doctor offered you
Lupron? Please research any drugs/hormones they might want to give you
very carefully before you take them! Lupron is one that gives many women
bad side effects (sometimes they don't go away) and doesn't even always
help.
The Endo Research Center has a great support group on yahoo:
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/erc/
Be sure to look in the "files" section, there are some good informative
documents you can download.
Hope this helps!
