Re: MENSES & the 'no flow period' The mystery ( kinda gross but I have to ask ...)From: Alyson (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri Dec 22 06:30:18 2006
I read recently that it is blood that is shed, but does not leave the body immediately. So, it oxidizes (turns brown) and clots together. I don't know how acurate that is. My doctor never seemed concerned about it either. When I was seeing my acupuncturist she described it as "stasis in the lower region". Essentially stagnant blood. She was treating me for endo pain and gave me some herbs for the "stasis". The next period I had was actually pretty normal, red, flowing, no clots...and less painful! Alyson
