Hello,

I too have been looking into alternative therapies. I had a Reiki treatment a few weeks ago. It is an interesting experience. I didn't really understand how it works at first but I decided to give it a try (I'm willing to give anything a try at this point). Basically the person places thier hands on various points of your body to pinpoint your chakras. She told me that I may feel heat, tingling, or vibrations. I must say I felt alot of heat in certain areas. The point of it is that certain chakras may have too much or too little energy and the Reiki person is tapping into universal energy to redistribute the enery throughout your body. I found it extremely relaxing, even moreso than a full body massage and would definitely try it again. I am looking into acupuncture but have not tried it yet. I have read about its positive effects but would love to hear about anyone's personal experiences.
