For anyone who has had a cyst burst, does it feel like this?

I was diagnosed with endo a year ago and had my first lap in January.

This past Sunday night I woke up in the middle night with what started out as cramping and soon spread to my entire abdomen. I had fried fish for dinner so I thought I either had food poisoning or gas from the grease. My husband put his head to my stomach and thought he heard gurgling so he said it is probably gas and he gave me some Gas-x. But the pain kept getting worse and worse, with the center of the pain (and the most severe) being right over my left ovary, where my last cyst had been. It went straight through to my back and back started aching in that area too. It was constant and unbearable for about 2 hours. My husband wanted to take me to the ER but I was so afraid it was just gas I wouldn't let him take me. The following 2 days my abdominal area was sore in the area of my left ovary.

The funny thing is this exact thing happened about 2 years ago. I had very similar pain for about 2 hours. At that time I did not know about the endo yet so I had no clue what had caused it but after I was diagnosed and did a little research about symptoms (I was pretty much asymptomatic and my first cyst was discovered accidentally during a sonogram to check my IUD) I began to suspect that maybe that painful episode 2 years ago might have been a cyst bursting.

Does it sound like maybe I had a cyst burst? If so, should I hurry to get to the doctor? I was wondering if there is even anything they can do about it at that point. Plus I just started a new job so my new insurance just kicked in and I couldn't get an appointment until 1/10/07. And I'll be seeing a nurse practitioner because the doctors are booked until February.
