Yes it is normal. Don't worry. I had a breathing tube inserted on all 3 of my surgeries. You will only have a bit of a scratchy throat after surgery. Don't worry it passes. I was told right before my last last which was a week ago. The breathing tube is inserted to assist you during surgery. Once the surgery is done they slowly take you off the machine and once you are breathing unassisted they remove the tube. You will not know the tube was inserted or anything. You are completely asleep. Good Luck.
