Hi. I am new here and am looking for information. Sorry this is going to be very long!! Within the past 6 months I have been experiencing quite alot of pelvic pain. I have felt like my ob/gyn doesn't think that the pain is as bad as I have been describing. It all started when I was having pain in the upper and lower abdomen. I suspected gallbladder for the upper pain, but test didn't show stones so I went to my ob/gyn to check on other causes. She found a rather large cyst on my ovary, which actually ruptured while she was examining me. Further tests showed that my gallbladder was the cause of the upper pain and I had it removed. I have since had 2 more cysts on my ovary. The pelvic pain has only gotten worse over time. It starts mid-cycle and ranges from mild to really severe menstrual cramps. I also have lots and lots of rectal pressure (to the point that it hurts to sit). My bladder also hurts when it is full, along with hip and leg pain and intense lower back pain. I pretty much hurt from ovulation to the end of my period. 3 months ago my dr. talked me into getting an IUD because I have always had heavy periods. It has not changed my pain - maybe made it worse. Since then, my periods have been about 15 days. I called the dr. last week because the pain was so bad. I got in to see the n.p., who talked to the dr. They have scheduled me for a lap in a couple of weeks. Please give me any advice you have on what to do. I want to have the lap if I need it before the end of year (have already met all insurance ded), but I am scheduled to go on a big family trip to fla. over christmas and don't know how long it will take me to recover from the lap. But I don't think I can enjoy the trip as I am now anyway. Sorry to vent!!
