Re: Bad pain even after two Vicodin - normal with endo? From: Erica (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat Dec 2 11:39:57 2006
Michelle, I am sorry you are experiencing so much pain. I do not have the lower back pain that you experience but I definitely feel extreme pelvic pain and tailbone pain. At times it radiates down one of my legs. Lately I have been experiencing pain in my right side into my back that feels similiar to a kidney infection. I thought I had a bladder infection b/c I am urinating very frequently and if I try to hold it at all it brings on more pain in my side. I do not have a bladder infection and they even checked me for kidney stones. I had a very small one but not big enough to cause the pain I feel. I have had endo for about 2 and 1/2 years now. I find that Motrin does not help me at all. I take Vicodin occasionally but I will admit that Percocet helps me somewhat more than Vicodin. I try to refrain from pain killers b/c of the constipation issues it causes. However I have to take them to get through work. I take 1-2 a day (sometimes not on the weekends) and have done so for about two years. I am surprised that two Vicodins doesn't get rid of alot of your pain. However I will say that I find that with narcotics it is important that you take them the second you start having pain b/c if it gets too bad when you do take them it will not be as effective. That has been my experience. My endo involves my bowels and bladder as well and that can make everything so painful b/c everytime you have gas, bowel movements it can be from uncomfortable to unbearable at times. Just curious, have you altered your diet at all?
