Trudi, hard to say whether or not some endo was missed during the first
excision or not. After any ovarian cystectomy, you run the risk of it
coming back or adherance to the colon, or both. Each procedure was
excision by a laser intrument (just as a cutting tool, no ablation). My
fingers are crossed that I'm lucky this go round but only time will
tell. I'm also hoping the piece of endo they left on the bowel just
stays the same and doesn't cause problems.
It's sad that so many women have to have hysterectomies for this
disease. It sounds like you've researched your options and I wish you
all the best with it. You must be forgoing hormonal treatment then and
going into early menopause? It sounds like that's the only way even with
a full hyst...
