Re: cul de sac - extreme pain?From: Bulaone (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu Nov 30 13:17:42 2006
Trudi, when I had my first lap 1/2 yrs ago, I was having pain during menstruation in the rectal area before a bowel movement that built up to excrutiating and outside times of the period. It quite lterally and pardon the graphic nature, felt like someone was reaching up and pulling my insides out. During the surgery they found a mass of endo in the cul-de-sac and removed it, endometriomas on both ovaries, and other endo scattered throughout the pelvis. I haven't had the rectal pain since. After that however, I started having discomfort in what seemed like my descending colon, especially if it felt gassy or full. I had a second lap 2 weeks ago to remove another cyst on the left side and that ovary was actually adhered to the sigmoid colon with endo tissue, something that happened post-1st surgery. It could be that you have a number of things happening at once. Are you having the hysterectomy because on endo?
