Wanting some Advice and information!From: Pam (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu Nov 30 11:19:10 2006
Hi Everyone, I have been trying to catch up on all the entries that I have missed because of recovery from my lap (Nov.14, 2006) I noticed that some women have posted wanting information about Endo coming back while on BCPs and about getting pregnant. I would also like some advice on both if possible. I have posted before. When I first thought I had Endo. I have tried to get on and at least let everyone know about my recovery and things but I am not sure if I have ever really explained what got me here to begin with. So I will, and maybe that will help answer some of my questions. Information about me: I am 24 years old. I started having some problems in 2005 June to be exact. The problems I had and still have is anxiety/panic attacks. At the time, June 05, I didn't really know what was going on. I had always been what you would say healthy. I am considered overweight. I am 5'2 and weighted 248 (at that time). Anyway, I started going to see this doctor (PCP) because I had went to the ER because I thought I having a heart attack. The doctor thought I had heart papualtions (spelling?) It is basically an irregular heart beat. So he told me to stop caffiene and stop my birth control. I had been on bc (pills at this time) since I was 14 so I thought that could be my problem. Well, I ended up having to wear a heart montior and it came back normal. The doctor told me I was fine I just needed to lose weight. (Interesting thing is that while he was talking to me I was having an attack and he was listening to my heart and everything, but I only needed to lose weight) Anyway, I ended up changing doctors and started seeing the PCP that I am still currently seeing. He said that I didn't have the irregular heartbeat like I was told. I had anxiety and that what I was experiencing was an anxiety attack. To make a long story short. I finally got that under control after trying different medications. When I started to see this new doctor I asked about the bc. He said I could start taking it again if I wanted to. My husband and I decided that we would continue to stay off of it. We weren't really what you would say "trying" to get pregnant. Just letting nature take it course. (that is the way we looked at it) So when I start having women problems. I had been off bc for a little over a year. It was a year in June. Started having major problems with pain, etc. around August I started having heavier periods but it wasn't until Sept. that I start this whole process of finding out what was wrong because I was hurting so bad. That is when I found this web-site and started talking on here and doing research. So it had been a little over a year (1 year and 3 months) since I stopped the bc, never used any other types of protection. We never got pregnant. Not at all. I wasn't too concern at the time because I had always been told that it could take a year or so after stopping bc to conceive. So here we are now: I did have Endo when my GYN did the lap and also a cyst on my right ovary (in case no one read the other post I did) I only had a little but he removed what he could see, couldn't be 100% because you cannot remove what you don't see. I assumed I did have it. It runs in my family. My sister had to have her uterus removed at age 21 because of Endo, but the doctor never told her what stage she was at. It has been about 10 years, she is 31 now. She had already had two children and was married so her having her uterus taken out wasn't a huge deal, she had already had her tubes tied by this time. (just a little background) So here is my questions: First, about the Endo. I have done ton of research, I think maybe too much because I expected the worst when I was told that I had Endo. (although I only had mild or stage 1 of the Endo) I guess I was more upset about there not being a cure for Endo. But, anyway, I realize that there is no cure but since my GYN went in there and removed it, I don't really understand why or how it can come back. So that is question one. Second, my GYN decided to put me on Seasonique, which I am assuming is like Seasonale but I don't know much about it. Does anyone else. (question 2) Because of this pill, I am suppose to only have 4 periods a year. So by taking the pill, I cannot get pregnant of course and I shouldn't have problems with Endo. Right? (question 3) Third, since I have or had Endo, doesn't that lower the chance of me being able to conceive. I thought I looked up information about Endo that stated if a woman had it she would have problems conceiving. (question 4) If that is the case, since we are pretty sure my GYN got most of the Endo, would it not make sense to try to conceive now instead of waiting? (question 5) When I saw my GYN (Nov 24) for my post-op, he made my husband and I feel like we might want to have children sooner but he really didn't say much about it. He did feel that I would eventually have to have a hyster. to get completely rid of the Endo. (like my sister) He was mainly concerned about where he found it at. It was around some nerves around near my uterus and those nerves connected to my back which was why he thought I had severe back pain. So does it matter in a sense of getting pregnant where Endo is located? (question 6) I think I only have one more question, if or when it does come back, will it come back in the same locations. I know it can spread to different places but will it start back where it was? (question 7) Sorry just one more question, How is everyone else doing? I guess now that I look at this I really haven't done all that much research, but it seemed like I had. I just don't know where to find information about these types of questions.I have done an outline of each question I asked so that it is easier to understand. So here they are: (1) If the Endo is removed by doing the lap, how and/or why can it come back? (2) Anyone know about Seasonalique? (3) Does the pills stop the Endo from coming back and I guess growing (not sure if that is a good way to put it? (4) Does having or having had Endo reduce the chance of a woman being able to conceive? (5) If Endo is removed and you want children, should you not go ahead and try to conceive instead of waiting? (6) Is there a connection between where the Endo is located and being able to conceive? (7) If or when the Endo returns, will it come back in the same place? (8) How is everyone doing? Sorry for so many questions. I didn't realize I had that many when I started reading today. When I started reading I thought of some but when I started asking I came up with more. I do apologize for this being so long. I hope I don't offend anyone. It is just hard being my age and being told you have something that there isn't a cure for and then just expected to deal with it. In order for me to deal, I need to know more than what a normal web-site or newletter is going to tell me. I am sure that all of you can understand that, especially since most of you all have dealt with Endo for many years. I hope someone or some of you can answer all or at least most of my questions and give me some feedback. It would be really helpful. Again I want to thank everyone for at least listening, even if no one has the answers. It helps to at least talk about things. I hope all is doing well. Wishing pain free days.............Pam P.S. Didn't do spell check, so I hope all of you can understand what I posted, Sorry.
