Lupron headaches--add back therapy?From: Julie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue Nov 28 09:34:39 2006
Hello--I haven't posted for a few weeks and I have some questions about headaches while on Lupron Depot. I just had surgery for what turned out to be severe endometriosis on November 16. They were not able to remove all the endo on my bowel using the laparascopic technique so they had to leave some of it. While I was in the recovery room the nurse gave me a 3-month Lupron shot. I consented to get it, but the nurse was unfamiliar with the injection and couldn't tell me about it and I was still pretty groggy from anesthesia. I'm more than a little annoyed that I had to make a decision about how I was going to feel for 3 months while impaired, but that's another problem. Anyway, my question is, have any of you taken "add-back therapy" with norethindrone while on Lupron, and does it help with headaches? My main side effects seem to be that I wake up hot in the middle of the night and can't go back to sleep (which is making me really tired in the daytime), and a constant headache that ranges from annoying to pretty severe. My head starting hurting the day after my surgery and injection and hasn't ever stopped since. Also, does the norethindrone help with hot flashes? Thanks a lot everyone.
