I just responded to another person here in the forum about UTIs and
such, but you may want to ask your doctor about Interstitial Cystitis, a
chronic disease of the bladder in which the lining of the bladde is
damaged and causes pain. I was just diagnosed with it in August '06. I
was having chronic bladder spasms, pain when I would pee, frequent
urination, trying to go pee but nothing would come out, chronic pelvic
and back pain, etc. After some diagnostic questions and tests, I was
told I have IC. I have done some research and have found that people
who have IC often have other auto immune disorders such as endo (which I
have) and fibromyalgia (which I also have...a Trifecta of chronic Pain!
Weee!). Since then I've been put on some medication and I am on a very
restrictive diet which eliminates anything acidic, caffeinated, high in
potassium, alcoholic, etc. The diet is worth going on (that is if you
are diagnosed with IC, so please ask your dr!) because the medications
apparently take 3 to 6 months to kick in. It's just a thought, but if
it persists, I would ask your doc about this. Hope this helps. Feel
free to email me anytime.
