Re: Endo , the Birth Control Pill for 3 months straight no break!!!From: Amy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon Nov 13 08:02:27 2006
I have taken continuous birth control (lo-ovral 28)for my endo for several years and find it helps quite a bit. My endo pain and symptoms are not as bad now that I am not having regular periods. I "force" one every 3-4 months. I can usually tell when I need to have one-hard to explain but I will start feeling bad and bloat pretty bad. I take this as my body's sign that it is period time. I remember having some break through bleeding and some other symptoms like some pain and moodiness when I first started taking my pills in this way. My body just needed time to adjust I guess. I love taking my pills like this. Of course, it is really nice to not have a period every month (my periods are extremely bad)and it has definitely helped control my endo somewhat. I have not noticed any long term side effects either-maybe a few pounds of weight gain, but I think it is just extra water retention. Feel free to email me privately if you want to talk more or search the archives on the forum-there have been posts on this before. This is a pretty common thing to try with endo. Hugs! Amy Meyer
