I have both. The MVP is a swollen valve in your heart. It is detected through an echocardiogram. They found my thyroid problem through a blood test. But I would definately ask about the possibility of MVP. They can give you medication to take daily that will control the palpitations if that is the problem. It is pretty common. I know several people who have it.
