This really comes down to a personal decision. You can try treating your symptoms for awhile, sticking with the pill or trying a new pill like Yasmin or Seasonale (do your research first, I'm not advocating either one). A laproscopy is not a very serious proceedure, but you want to be careful about going through any surgery. I think most important is to note that you do not have to have a direct family connection to have endometriosis. There are plenty of women with this disease who do not have a sister or mother suffering from it as well. So, as far as that is concerned it really should not be relied upon for a diagnosis. Check out this web site. http://www.morehead.org/wellconnected/000074.htm It has alot of endo information as well as info on other pelvic diseases that have similar symptoms. Alyson
