Re: A Couple QuestionsFrom: Amy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue Nov 7 08:55:09 2006
Hi Sarah! For my pain, I just take 600-800 Mg Ibuprofen (3-4 Advil or generic brand) and apply heat. If I am home and can lay down, I use a heating pad. If the pain is bad and I have to be at work or away from home, I use the menstrual Therma Care patches. These are great! Stick to the inside of your undies and stay warm for 8 hours-like wearing a portable heating pad. If you haven't tried them-give it a shot. You can get them in most drug stores or grocery stores. I have never tried stronger pain killers, other than after surgery, as most of them are codeine based and it makes me itch really bad so I try to avoid it. The ibuprofen doesn't always get rid of the pain completely but usually helps at least make it bearable and if I am home and can lay down, it will help me to sleep too. Hope this helps! I can't answer your other questions as I take Lo-ovral bc and am not trying to get pregnant, but endo can make it difficult. Hugs! Amy Meyer
