What I do is take 600mg of ibuprofen and I have one of those rice bags that can get heated up in the microwave and put that over the pain and lay down. I usually get the pain as soon as I wake up, so I take some ibuprofen before I go to bed and wake up an hour or 2 earlier to take some more then go back to bed so I can sleep while it kicks in.
