Re: How old were you?From: Julie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon Nov 6 17:27:20 2006
Hi Abby--I started at age 12 and it was always painful, but I just thought that cramps were normal so I never told a doctor about it. I just went to the doctor this spring for pelvic pain that lasts throughout the month and they think it is endometriosis because I have a big cyst that showed up on ultrasound. I will hopefully get surgery to remove it and find out for sure if I have endometriosis in the next few weeks (I'm 38 now). So I guess if I do have endo, I had symptoms for 26 years before diagnosis.
