Re: Irregular Rapid Heart BeatFrom: Amy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon Nov 6 12:00:17 2006
Hi Jess! Just wanted to write and say I experience the same thing-I think it is officially called heart palpatations. When it happens to me, it makes me catch my breath and my heart feels like it pounds really, really hard for a beat or two, then goes back to normal. I have noticed that certain types of birth control seem to make it happen more often so I wonder if hormones don't have something to do with it too. I have a family history of heart disease but have also read that this is a common symptom of endo. I have mentioned it to my doctor who seems to think it is no big deal. Whether he is right or not, I am not sure. It scares me but he seems to think it is nothing to worry about and could be caused by anxiety (I do have high anxiety and am prone to panic attacks) or caffeine. I do disagree though because this happens at times when I have had no caffeine and when I feel relaxed. I hope it at least helps to know others experience it too. I know you do not have insurance but if you get it, or end up at the doctor anyway, be sure to mention this. Hang in there! Hugs!! Amy Meyer
