Re: Aygestin treatment for Endo?From: Amber (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed Nov 1 14:10:14 2006
Heidi, I just took this medication for 4 weeks but just recently discontinued it. It did stop my periods and reduce my pain quite a bit. I still had some pelvic pain at times but not as bad. However, after a few days of taking it I became extremley irritable. The irritability, mood swings and depression was the worst I have ever experienced. Because of that I discontinued taking it. I could not handle my mental state while on the drug. And after I quit taking it, my mental state went back to normal, I did start bledding two days after stopping. My doctor said I must be very sensitive to hormones (I already knew this) and agreed with me quitting the medicine. I am sure everyone has a different reaction, but I though I would share mine since I just had an experience with it. When my doctor prescribed it she said it would be something they would give you as an "add-back" to go along with Lupron. And she wanted me to try Lupron, two weeks after starting this. I am highly against trying Lupron, especially now that the medication that is supposed to help the Lupron side effects made me feel that bad and whacked out. Amber
