Hi Mary, Sorry that you're having such a difficult time. All I can suggest is that the reason they want to do a laparotomy instead of a laparoscopy is because you already have scars from previous surgeries, therefore they would excise through the old scar and resect it instead of making new scars. Seeing as your disease is so extensive it will allow them better access. Gather all the iformation you can and make your decision absed on those facts, and then tell the doctors what you want to do. If they can't oblige then go to another doctor. Hope it works out for you
