Re: Endo, recurring ovarian cyst with a hysterotomy

Hi Mrs. C,

I had laparoscopic removal of endometriosis in 1995, and then a complete laparoscopic hysterectomy to remove endometriosis in 1996. Since then I have complained to different doctors of left side pain, discomfort, bowel issues and a lump on the left side. Finally my new primary care doctor found the mass during a pelvic exam and on a follow up pelvic ultrasound it was confirmed to be widespread pelvic endometriosis. I just found this out today. I will be scheduling an appointment with a surgeon to discuss my options, and although I am happy to have a diagnosis, I am a bit depressed with what I am facing. I was also diagnosed a year and a half ago with chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia. This caused me to lose my career. I have spent this time resting and recovering. I understand your feelings of isolation, confusion and fear. All I can say is take your time researching your options, get a second opinion, and use your knowledge to make the best decision you can. Depend on your friends and family for support, and let me know how you are doing.
