I too have suffered ten plus years. What has your dr recommended? I kept my ovaries, and I highly suggest that you do the same! I am 34. I have had recurrent cysts on my left ovary, I have had laps to remove them, and sometimes they just ruptured on their own. Did your dr suggest doing a lap? What about b/c pills or Depo-Provera? There is a new low dose b/c pill called Yaz thats supposed to be very low dose. I don't know if you've been on the pill before, I was and they didn't agree with me.But, even without a uterus b/c pills can suppress ovulation, thereby reducing your chances of developing cysts and without ovulation your cysts should shrink and possibly go away. How did he find the cysts, by ultrasound? Its possible that those cysts are endometriomas chocolate cysts, which to my knowledge would only be defined for sure by doing a lap. In that case, your dr. could then laser/excise the cysts and keep your ovaries. I understand your tired of being in severe chronic pain, I feel the same way! You had your hyst at such a young age, I understand your frustration about being in chronic pain. Just know that your ovaries do so much for your body, keeping your heart and bones healthy, helping your libido, and so much more. Keeping your ovaries is very benificial to your entire body. There are good sites out there, try Woman to Woman, and research retaining your ovaries. I wish you pain free days ahead.
