Re: pregnant after Lupron Depot--TraceyFrom: Angie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed Oct 25 15:34:24 2006
I had it the surgery before I took the shot. I read up on lupron and didn't like what I was hearing. When they tried to give it to me first I said I wasn't going to take it unless I knew it would help, so I did the surgery to diagnose it first. The funny thing is when they did my surgery they saw what they thought was endo so they put me on lupron right after it. Low and behold when the lab came back it didn't confirm the diagnosis, so I had to go through hot flashes for three months and it still didn't help. I also had to wait two months to see if the lupron was helping, and then go back to my doctor. Right now they are still trying to figure out what is causing my pain. I’ve been taking chronic pain medications, an anti-seizure med and an antidepressant which is helping a little, but I’m in the process of elimination for different ailments including Irritable Bowel Syndrome and Fibromyalgia. And I also heard it's not good to go through lupron before surgery because it causes the endo to shrink and become harder to find.
