Pamela, If you don't mind me asking... what type of insurance do you have? I have Atena open choice POS and was scheduled for surgery with Dr Kanayama for Sept 28th 2006. After paying my 650 deductible and scheduling the surgery, his office manager went to get the amount that my insurance co would pay, since he is out of network specialist for everyone. They say they pay 80% after you have met your deductible. They came back with offering $315 for lap, and $112 for hysteroscopy. They were basically covering 3% of my surgery! I unfortunately have stage 4 with deep implants, and had no choice but to cancel due to, I don't have $15,000 saved for sugery!

I am currently in the annual enrollment process at my job. Dr Kanayama's office manager told me to try to get any insurance that has PPO behind it. I think we have that here at work so now I am enrolling but it won't be effective until Jan 2007. Then I will try the whole sch-bang over. That's why I am wondering what insurance you had and what they covered or how much you got left with to pay. You are the first person that I can ask that has actually had the surgery with him. You can email me in private if you prefer. Please try to get back to me soon, my enrollment period at work ends on November 17th. Any advice or help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

thank you so much, and I hope that you are doing well and feeling better.
