Re: Anyone get a uterine infection with your lap?

Hey Julie I have been bleeding since the lap on Monday. I thought it was normal. But the bleeding that I have been having has gone from light (right after the lap) to medium to heavy to medium. I went to the ER and the ER ran my bloodwork and urine and called my dr at home. We had a bad storm here (I'm sure ya'll have seen it on the news). They started me on Doxycline in the ER and had me on an IV. The ER dr was really concerned with the bleeding. I thought bleeding was normal but apparently not like this. My wounds were ok Friday night. However last night, I noticed a "smell" to the one in the belly button. I thought maybe it is because the dressing is not off yet. They put a tape like thing in the belly button and then covered it with the oval tape like they use to hold an iv in place. So it looks pretty tight. The nurse said to remove the dressing when it became ratty, but it is not ratty at all. But this morning the smell is definitely worse. I asked my dh to smell it. He said gross and no way. So I asked my 7 year old to. She didn't want to but I told her to take a whiff. I asked her if it smelled like I had gone to the gym sweaty smell or if it smelled like something had died. She said mom it smells like something died. There looks to be pus in it. I am definitely seeing my dr tomorrow for a recheck. The ER dr had called him at home and he said he wanted me in tomorrow. The question is where at the hospital or at the office. He doesn't see patients in the office on Mondays cause that is surgery day. I'm still running a fever of about 99-100 while alternating motrin and tylenol (drs instructions). The wound itches and stings a bit now. I swear it looks a bit swollen. Also where the ER dr examined my belly, I now have bruises where she pressed. I didn't have any bruising till last night. She didn't even press on my stomach that hard. That can't possibly be normal. Oh yeah and there is smell to the bleeding too now. I am on antibiotics so I can wait till tomorrow morning. But I am afraid that they have to go back in or something and that would stink.
