Mary, I know you mentioned that this is a new doc, but it wouldn't hurt to seek a second opinion. Also, if you have a cardiologist that deals with your heart murmur it may be a good idea to get the two docs together on deciding how best to treat your situation. I would imagine there is a bit of a catch 22 because your hormones do relate to heart function, but estrogen drives the endo. That's why I think it would be good to have both docs involved. My mother had much of her left ovary and half of her right ovary removed prior to having me and my two siblings. So, I would have to think that the 1/2 ovary you would have left will still provide some function.
