endometriosis?

Any guidance would be appreciated...

I'm not sure whether or not I have endometriosis. Prior to getting pregnant, I had very painful periods. Just recently, the pain has returned... but it is more severe and chronic. I constantly seem to have back pain that gets worse during menstruation. During menstruation, it sometimes feels like back labor. I think I've gotten used to the pelvic pain, but the back pain is new. But both seem to be connected. My stomach seems to be always upset and generally worse around menstruation, along with bowel movements. When I do have a bowel movement during menstruation it just seems like a lot of pressure. As far as intercourse, it is painful in some positions but otherwise fine. I guess I've always had these symptoms during menstruation but they were very mild and I just thought they were normal. Now, they have become very painful. I had an ultrasound that did not show any abnormalities. My doctor said right now I have two options... either taking the pill nonstop or laproscopy. I think not knowing for sure is adding anxiety... so I'm leaning towards laproscopy. But I don't want to have surgery and find out that it is something else. I'm also worried about the expense involved. I would be happy to hear any advice or similar stories.

Thanks.
