Amber, I am new to the forum, but when I saw that you just started on Aygestin I had to put my two cents in. I was on Aygestin for 3 months. I started out on 5 mg, a day. It did not help with the endo-related pain! I had nausea, terrible mood swings, trouble sleeping, some hair loss, and little muscle spasms in different parts of my body. I am surprised that you would be prescribed Aygestin since you have a history of a blood clot and Aygestin increases risk of blood clots/stroke. I don't, but at one point while on the drug I experienced loss of function on my left side, and I am convinced that it had something to do with the Aygestin, although the episode was brief, it was very frightening (especially because I was home alone at the time). So please be careful with that. Anyway, after two months on Aygestin, I went to the ER due to a severe episode of pelvic pain, at which time my dosage was increased to 10 mg per day. It still didn't help with the pain and I opted to stop taking it. I quit taking it two weeks ago, and already my mood swings have stopped, I haven't been nauseous (except during my period which returned four days after I stopped. But I am always nauseous during my period) and no more pulling clumps of hair out in the shower! Plus the muscle spasms are way less frequent, they're not gone yet, but I suspect it will take a little time for all the Aygestin to get out of my system. Sorry this is kinda long but I wanted to share my experience. I am looking for an endo specialist as well, best of luck to you in finding a great surgeon! Kisha
