Amber, I was on norethindrone (generic for Aygestin) for about 8 months. At first I was taking 5mg once daily, then 5 mg twice daily. I had a few side effects initially, mostly just moodiness. The drug was not working very well to diminish my pain and so the doc doubled the dose (to 5 mg 2x daily) and that was when I started having problems with it. I was having terrible night sweats, hot flashes, losing my hair (which is still happening months after stopping it, so I can't say for sure that the drug was th cause). I finally switched to Danazol because the norethindrone wasn't helping and I was having so many problems with it. I must say that I also had a hard time on Danazol and am now not taking anything. I would encourage you to seek that specialist! It may be a battle, but probably worth it in the end. Alyson
