Re: Can anyone tell me what to expect at the preop appt?

Thanks everyone. I decided not to take my daughter with me. As good as she is at 7, I need to be able to focus on what my doc and I talk about it. Well with a 7 year old, anytime I decide I need to talk about something important, she thinks it is me time. So I am making arrangements for her. That was my main concern with the preop appt. I'll have extra blood taken because of a clotting disorder we think I may have (don't know for sure as I have never totally undergone testing and we found out about it when I got my records in January from my 7 year old's birth.) Blood work after having Preeclampsia is a walk in the park. I was a human pin cushion when pregnant, so much so that after I had her, I asked my doc if I needed to have any more blood work done and he said, nope and your arm's can stop looking like a drug addicts now, lol.

As much as I hate pelvic exams, if it needs to be done, it needs to be done. Although after this year, I shouldn't have to have anymore for the next 5, lol. I'll be going by myself as dh can't get off from work.

Thanks. Oh and finally got my preop appt at the hospital. It is next week Thursday at 2:30pm. Then I go to my dr's office which is across the street for my appt at 3:15pm. The reason that it took so long for that is because they don't call for that till the week before. Otherwise the old people forget she told me. Small town here.
