Re: Can anyone tell me what to expect at the preop appt?

Hey Sabrina, I just had my lap last week. I actually went to the Dr. first for Preop. He went over the consent papers, explained the surgery (exactly what he would do and the recovery). He explained procedures for the night before surgery. (enema, no food or drink after 11:00)He also asked if I had any questions. I only had a few, but you might want to write them down before you go. (I didn't and then forgot a few of them.) He did not do a pelvic exam. He sent me straight to the hospital to do my blood work. I had to check in first and go through my insurance information so that everything would be ready for surgery on Mon. morning. They just took two viles of blood and that was it. It really wasn't a big deal, and I had been scared because I went by myself. It is a good idea to take someone with you, just to make you feel more comfortable and be an extra set of ears. Hope all goes well! Kelly
