Looks like the pill is what's been making me nauseous and weak.... ?From: Liz (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue Sep 19 01:51:53 2006
Thanks to everyone who replied to my last post; I don't know what a normal reaction is so often these days... Anywho, I Just wanted to get this off my chest and frankly this is the only place where the subject isnt TMI... As it turns out it's likely not my throwing a dog toy and straining something that's been causing the major nausea, weakness and shakiness. Looks like it's the birth control I started taking! I started Nordette and it occured to me that I've been having symptoms for about 5 days, and taking that pill for about 5 days. I called him back and he eventually said I might try a lower dose pill like Loette (that's what it's called here anyway) to see if that helps. Thank god I finally read the fine print; I had NO IDEA the pill could do so much more to you than just give you some fluid retention and spotting and the symptoms I was having were in the "contact a doctor now" category. It's about 5 hours past due what would have been my next dose and I FINALLY stopped feeling so nauseous and the heavy faster heart rate and shakiness has calmed down. Hooray! In the meantime, I've also developed a nice case of thrush on my tongue, possibly going further back in my throat, and what looks like a yeast infection so I'm taking Diflucan for that now. Something that can happen from changing hormones so much, it seems... So, am I just super-sensitive or has anyone else had trouble adjusting to the pill? Just wondering if it's a matter of dosage or complete incompatibility. I thought Nordette was fairly low dosage to begin with, but... Given how bad my endo looked and the fact that it already took one ovary by 28 I know I can't avoid taking SOMETHING to help keep it at bay. I know I'll find out soon enough, it's just nice to hear from other people who are going through the same issues. Cheers, Liz
