Re: Advice about going to the CEC in Atlanta?

Barbara,
Did you contact the CEC already? reading your post it seems like the CEC
already told you that your insurance wouldn't cover this surgery. Am I
understanding well? In any case, I would call your insurance directly
and ask for the manager. See why they do not cover this surgery, if it
is because your plan doesn't cover it, or because of the location,
etc... If it is Dr related, then I would ask why they do not want these
Drs. It doesn't make sense to me, but if so, you have plenty of
references given by the CEC and previous patients, as well as the fact
that the center is recognized worldwide for their endo approach.
About the surgery schedule, mine was "delayed" in purpose. I was still
on the lupron (given by my former gyn) when I contact them, and Dr S
told me to wait until the lupron effects were completely gone to be sure
that no endo "patches" would be hidingaround (about 3 months after the
last injection date), hence for me mid September. I recalled seeing
people contacting them and having the surgery scheduled 2-3 weeks after
the first contact. So, I believe the dates are pretty much open, and
you can give yourself as much time that you need to prepare everything.
Hope this will help!
Best to you,
