acupuncture failureFrom: Jennifer (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue Sep 5 23:17:12 2006
Well ladies I told you I would fill you in on the acupuncture attempt. The first day it went well, he did some adjusting and a needle-less acupuncture. I felt better somewhat with the minor issues he was treating. I went back the second day and he used real needles that day. Then I found out how much he was going to charge me. My insurance said they would pick up the tab for the treatments and that most likely I would have to pay a needle fee or something small like that. everything else was covered. Then he said he wanted to see me 3 times a week for the first month and then to re-evaluate me. The charge was going to be $23.00 per visit. I asked them to clerify if that was each week or each day. They said each day. I didn't make another appointment. I told them that cost was a great concern of mine because I am on a strict budget and I cannot afford much which is why I did so much research and picked a clinic that accepted my insurance. For those of you who are still up and its late, that is roughly $280.00 this month that they wanted from me. Well I dont know about all of you, but I certainly don't have an extra $300.00 laying around at the end of the month. But to give him a little credit he has had a 100% success rate with his infertility patients. He is well known by my brother-in-law and his father who are both Chiropractors and they strongly recommended him to me. Oh well. I will try a massage a month for a while and see how that goes. I'm working on developing a new diet regimen to go off of from one of my books, along with some tai chi and yoga. Something I have noticed with the recent posts here and my own experience (13 years already) with this stupid disease. ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE. Whether it be strange pain that comes for a while and goes and changes to a different spot you'd never imagine, or hemorrhoids, or whatever. Everything is linked to this disease and I hope to figure out a way to live each day without letting it take over me. I hope you are all successful with this disese as I have been. Seems like I have either built up an incredible tolerance to pain- which I hope is true and sticks with me in labor. Or the pain gets better over time. I have lived through the worst pain imaginable where I have been throwing up I was in so much pain. I have lived where it doesn't bother me at all. Hopefully you will experience some of those days too. I wish you all well and be strong. Don't let it win. Take care, Jen
