Preparing a letter to our U.S Senators - Bringing Endo to the fore front once again...From: Elisa (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue Aug 29 19:30:56 2006
Good Evenings Ladies~ I am at the crossroads again where it is time to write to our lovely U.S. Senators. I will not only writing this for the State of Illinois but for as many state names that I can get my hands on. I just wanted to give anyone who wishes, the opportunity to include some views and thoughts if you would like them expressed. 1. Ideally what would help me is to know what changes you would like to see? 2. How has having Endometriosis affected your life and for how long? 3. What type of treatment (good or bad)are you receiving in emergency situations? What would you like to see changed? 4. What would be the ideal solution to set new disability approval considerations for women who are just unable to work due to this debilitating disease? 5. How has this disease affected your overall personal relationships? 6. What do you see is the worst type of limitations that have been cast directly upon you? 7. Your personal comment here...with your permission to use excerpts only if you wish....Otherwise I can speak generally for us sufferers. If you give permission to use in the letter as an excerpt then just write that as well so I don't have to assume and run the risk of doing this to someone who didn't want to have their name used. My attorney for Social Security Disability wants to bring these issues back before our U.S. Senators to be better aware of what is really taking place with us and our lives with this disease. I did this before and it was wonderful hearing back from them. Now it's been a decade and it's time to do it again to help us all. If you feel uncomfortable doing this, I completley understand. I will be working on this either way and I remember seeing something from JoCee and all the hard work she did but no one really provided the signatures needed to make an impact in another way. I am not sure if I was able to do this here or not, so my apologies if that is no appropriate here. On the other hand, thanks in advance for wanting to help spread the word. Have a good night!
-- Elisa
