Pamela, I think they say these things out of total ignorance. It is worth explaining your situation to the office where you want to have the excision done, and see how they can work with you. They might set up a payment plan, or something. I spoke to my insurance people where I work, and they did actually research the gyns in our state, and found one who did do excision, who would have been "in network". But, I opted to go with the CEC because they have such a great success rate. So, I had to pay more.
