Re: ADVICE NEEDED: should I stop taking birth control pills?

Hello, I am in the same situation as you. I had to get off of my old bc pill because of massive mood swings. They prescribed Yasmin for me also. My doctor doesn't want me having periods so I don't take the placebo pills (the pink ones). I have a slight change in the pain, not enough to get happy over, since I have been on the pill. I was told by my doctor that I should see a change in the pain within 2 to 3 weeks. I deal with depression also and I will not take an anti-deppresant. I know exactly what you mean about wanting to get off all the medication. Have you called and talked to your doctor about the pain? I would do so immediately and just talk to them about your feelings with all the pills you have to take. Maybe they have another option for you. I have also heard of women being on bc and it helping the pain then it comes back after a while. I am just speculating that maybe your body becomes immune to the pill that you are taking. I think having your period in general with this disease causes a lot of pain. You should talk to your doctor about stopping it and the reccurance of the cysts. Maybe they can make it for you to not have a period. I also experience the pain before during and after a cycle. So, 3 weeks out of the month I am miserable. As far as the intimacy thing goes. I too have problems in that area. I wish that I could give some really good advice but, I have none. Just keep talking to your mate and explaining everything. My husband is wonderful with everything that has to due with this disease ( just like yours) but, I also keep talking to him about it and telling him that I feel bad for him. His reply is I'm fine your the one hurting and when you hurt I hurt. Just try to keep the intimacy in other areas. Talking, hugging and kissing. I'm sure your mate understands but I know how you feel. Like your not a whole woman!! My self image of being a woman throughout all of this has went down a lot. I try to keep my had high and my husband helps out a lot also. Just know that oyu are not alone and we all here try to help out as much as possible. Take care of yourself and keep us posted.
