ADVICE NEEDED: should I stop taking birth control pills?

Hi All,

I was diagnosed with endo when I was 23 (I'm 29 now). Following two surgeries to remove cysts / endo, I was put on Danazol for six months, followed by many different types of birth control pills. I've been on Yasmin for the last 4 years.

I'm considering stopping the pill because it doesn't seem to be helping my endo pain that much anymore, and I've also since developed depression (which I know is linked to endo, but I also think it's due in part to being on the pill for so many years). I'm being treated for the depression with anti-depressants, but I kind of just want to get off all of this medication! (it's so frustrating). In addition, I have started having a lot of pain before and after my period (for about a year now), pain during sex (which I've always had since I've had endo), and bloating, the feeling of adhesions, etc. I have been checked out by my doctor and she thinks that the pain is mostly due to adhesions from my surgeries. but my question is: could having my period every month be contributing to the pain in spite of taking the pill? (I know the pill is supposed to help with pain, which it did at first, but it doesn't seem to be helping that much anymore). If I go off the pill, do I risk developing endometriomas (cysts) again? How can I deal with the pain + the pain during sex (I have a wonderful partner who is completely understanding, but he feels very bad when I experience pain when we're intimate)?

I am so frustrated! any advice is welcome.
