Hey. Sorry I have not answered sooner, but having difficulty with
computer.
It has been 3 yrs, but this is how things were handled when I went:
When I went to doctor Albee, they had me gather all of my information,
and also a cover letter. I just briefly explained what was going on,
and I sent him a copy of all my doctors files. I was later contacted by
his office. With my situation, I was able to go see him at my
consultation, and speak to them about my insurance. Within a week his
office called me with the cost, and how much my insurance would pay. Now
we did have to pay our portion of the money up front the day of the
surgery.
So, I would definitely contact his office, and just find out all of the
information. His office staff was really great, and they work really
hard for you. By the way, it all depends on what code your insurance
files this type of laproscopy under. It can never hurt to ask for the
help of your H.R. to help.
>From the time I walked into Dr. Albee's office he treated me with so
much compassion and respect. Not just like another patient. He had
definitely looked at my charts, because I did not have to repeat
everything.
The morning of my surgery his staff treated me like I was a movie star.
Waiting on me hand and foot, as I even waited in the lobby with my
family we were given a warm blanket, and my kids hot chocolate.
I was pretty sore after my surgery for a while, but he had removed at
least 2 golf ball size areas in my uterus wall, several areas off of my
bowels, and other locations were removed. So, I did have help for at
least one week. Then I was able to take care of the kids, and I only
did what I could or had to do.
It has been about 3 yrs, and I am still normal. I now live in Ohio, and
if it comes back then I will be going to see him again.
Hope this helps.

>>>Hi, I did want to let you know that I saw Dr. Nezhat last Monday, and now you do have pay out of pocket first. They do not file insurance, so you have file the claim, then wait for insurance to reimburse you. They have 3 different payment options. If you cannot pay anything down, the fee is 8,000. The other two options include partial payments upfront, which make the surgery between 6,800 and 6,400. They actually did my first surgery 13 yrs. ago, so things have changed a lot. I was really disappointed because I know they are really good. Because of the cost, I had to look elsewhere.
