Re: BACTERIAL VAGINOSIS??? TO: Melissa

Melissa,
How do you go about getting your doctor to give medicine for your
husband too? I have a hard time as it is convincing them that I have BV
let alone them giving me a prescription for him to get medicine too.
Last time I asked my doctor he told me that is unlikely that my husband
is tranferring it back & forth so he did not give anything for my
husband. Another time they did not even do a wet prep to even diagnose
the BV (this happens to me alot). So I usually go several more weeks
with the Bacterial Vaginosis until I get medicine & of course that does
not completely get rid of it either. I talked to my OB/GYN & asked him
about following up with me to make sure that I still do not have the BV
after being treated & he basically avoided my question & told me just to
give it a month (even though I finished the medicine in 2 weeks). And,
of course I was back in his office today (He of course did not do a wet
prep) & I was told I have a yeast infection when I know it is BV. I
just do not know what to do sometimes. I am so frustrated. I do not
want to be too rude to the doctor, but I think I am being too nice. Let
me know your opinion & what you would do?
