There are four stages of Endo. Stage I being mild and Stage IV being severe. However, there is no relation between stages and pain level. For example, it is possible for someone with Stage IV Endo to have no pain whatsoever. On the other hand, it is possible for someone with Stage I endo be in horrible pain. Since the stages have no relation pain level, many doctors no longer use it.
