Re: being picked on about the disease : To MistyFrom: Liz (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue Aug 15 18:49:38 2006
Misty, It's no problem at all. If there's 1 thing ive learnt from joining this forum is that we all stick together, no matter what. It's like an unwritten rule here, whenever someone needs our support, we try our best to do what we can, without question. That alone, is what this website is best at, maybe we don't get the answers we need every time, but at least we can share our thoughts, feelings and be ourselves without prejudice. Do you agree? I, for 1, am not prepared to sit back and let a jealous outsider ruin this for us, not without a fight anyway. We all know too well what it feels like to be isolated due to a disease we have no control over. I was kind of hoping that mine was an isolated case and that nobody else has to go through the, well, ignorance really, that i face on a day to day basis. Sadly, however, it would appear that Endo sufferers worldwide face the daily struggle of trying to make people understand that we DONT want to be the victims, we DIDNT ask for this disease, we just want to live our lives and for people to be more compassionate, if not understand. We could all do with a break here, a little less ignorance and a lot more compassion wouldnt go amiss really, would it? I dont think we're asking too much. Do you? I beg, hope and pray that 1 day the ignorance stops, as does the pain for us all so we can go back to living our lives pain free again. Hugs to all, every single 1 of us deserves a huge pat on the back for dealing with a crippling disease, along with the stigma attached to it. Take care and stay strong everyone xxxxxxxxxx
